SOCCER CAPE BRETON has named a 17-player Team Cape Breton squad for the second Soccer Nova Scotia U12s Girls ID camp of the summer in Antigonish on July 29,30.
The Team CB girls impressed the selectors in their first outing in the Showcase at Acadia University last month as they competed against the strongest sides from Halifax at this age group.
We now have a batch of players aiming to make the Provincial Top 60 who will be asked to a special three-day camp in Halifax at the end of August.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King - who coached the team alongside CBU Men's Head Coach Deano Morley and their colleagues Lindsay Clarke and Tyler Kaupp - said: "We were extremely proud of the girls' efforts in Wolfville and the way they bonded both on and off the field.
"It was a terrific experience for the squad who are selected from our Regional Training Centre (RTC) program and our aim is to give as many as we can a chance to sample this level of competition.
"We are hopeful to have a good #ForeverOrange contingent in that final 60 if they keep progressing the way they are now. This is a dedicated and focused squad and they are a privilege to be involved with."
