SCB WINS RIGHT TO HOST MARITIME CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP GROUPS

Monday, May 25, 2026

Soccer Cape Breton is delighted to announce that we have won the right to host two group sections of the new Maritime Club Championship at Ness Timmons Field from June 5-7.
CAPERS Academy U15AAA and U17AAA Girls will host their sections with the 15s facing Valley United and Fundy and the 17s tackling Suburban FC and the older Fundy girls.
The new-look tournament sees 12 top clubs from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI clashing in four groups of three with the four group winners moving into the play-offs.
SCB is thrilled to give Deano Morley's U15AAA Girls and the 17s, coached by CBU CAPERS Women's Soccer midfielder Elle MacDougall, the chance to bid to qualify on home soil.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: "After the outstanding success of hosting the Soccer Nova Scotia Spring Cup in April when we welcomed 16 teams and around 350 U13s girls and boys players and their coaches and families to the island this is another huge boost.
"One of our stated goals is to establish Soccer Cape Breton as an elite youth tournament host body and we are committed to delivering a quality experience for all of our Maritime Club Championship visitors.
"We were proud to see our U13AA Girls lift the Spring Cup when we hosted here and we wish our Academy Girls every success in this adventure.
"With the U15s Boys and Girls U15s Canada Soccer National Championships coming to our venue in October 2027 these are exciting times for soccer on the island."
