SOCCER CAPE BRETON'S Friday Share initiative to provide local coaches with tailored session plans for the age groups they work with is proving a big success.
Today saw Session Three for Minis, Skill Centre and Soccer for Life age groups distributed amongst the technical staffs of the nine member clubs across the island and we have had an excellent response to date.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: "We have changed the way we get knowledge out to our dedicated coaches, lasering it to their own email addresses and giving them sessions specific to the age groups they are working with this summer.
"This weekend as well as our weekly Session Plan provision we will be giving the coaches the chance to utilise the superb Scoreboard Soccer platform and we would encourage all coaches to make full use of that.
"These curriculum sessions are designed as guides to help coaches in the sessions they run and it is heartening to get so many positive emails when they drop each Friday.
"One of our key goals in our Coach Education program is to keep building game knowledge within the island's soccer community and we now have around 200 passionate coaches on our roster who are helping our young players develop. We are indebted to them and will continue trying to help them as much as possible."
