HAYDEN FORWARD NEW SCB MINIS COORDINATOR

SOCCER CAPE BRETON is delighted to announce Hayden Forward as the new Minis Coordinator for Season 2023/24.

Hayden is a former CBFC player who is studying for a Bachelor of Arts degree at Cape Breton University and has a proven record in delivering successful Minis programs at local club New Waterford Wolves.

He is a popular coaching figure there and it was Hayden's empathy for the kids he works with that shone through in the interview process.

Hayden was in charge of his first sessions on Saturday October 13 in the newly reopened CBU Dome and he said: "Day One went really well, it's always a little chaotic at the start with everyone getting their program T-shirts but the players all left here with big smiles on their faces which was great to see.

"It was a lot of fun for me to work with our Future Coaches in the sessions and I am looking forward to developing our program moving forward.

"I came up as a player through these programs and I just want to give these young players the fun and guidance I got when I was growing up."

As well as being Minis Coordinator Hayden is a Staff Coach with the hugely popular Skill Centre programs that cover SCB's U9-U12 players, these were close to sold out on registrations for this Fall/Winter and also had a great start as they worked on dribbling technique and small-sided games on Day One.

Soccer Cape Breton is a non-profit organization.Â As a member of Soccer Nova Scotia, Soccer Cape BretonÂ is the governing body for soccer in the Cape Breton region.

We oversee the clubs within our district and handle things such as scheduling, registration, and refereeing. In the summer, we also run soccer festivals within the clubs for the mini age groups.

In addition, Soccer Cape Breton runs its own programs within the CBHRC complex. The Minis Program runs from fall to spring for children aged 3-10. This program teaches kids the fundamentals of soccer through physical, technical and tactical development, while incorporating fun into every drill!

We also have a Winter Academy for kids aged 11 and up. These players engage in weekly sessions which focus on increasing their technical and tactical abilities.
