CAPE BRETON FC this weekend has 30 of the leading players on the island in action at the prestigious South Shore Showcase in Bridgewater.
The HBO Sports Studio Centre hosts three hectic days of 7 v 7 action starting on Friday and CBFC will field two Girls squads and one Boys squad in the popular competition.
U17AAA Girls Assistant Coach Damien Barry will guide Team White Girls with Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King taking charge of Team Orange Girls.
The Boys squad will be led by U17AAA Boys Head Coach Kuvy Moodley with all of the players eagerly awaiting the chance to impress watching Varsity coaches.
Iain King said: "We have three excellent squads travelling to this one and it's a great opportunity for our players to show the University coaches what they have in their locker.
"We are proud of our recent record of graduating players into AUS and ACAA rosters and there are a host of players in this group who are capable of playing at those levels.
"As ever we will also take some younger players to test them in this environment and give them the experience of Showcase soccer and we are all looking forward to the challenge."
