SOCCER CAPE BRETON Regional Director of Development Iain King has added a Youth Academy Director diploma to his qualifications after his trip to the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Anaheim last month.
Iain visits the prestigious coaching gathering Stateside each year to stay up to date on the latest education in the Beautiful Game.
A previous Convention trip to Philadelphia saw Iain gain a Diploma in Small-Sided Games and this time around he chose to expand into on-field sessions and off-field governance in the Youth Academy Director role.
Iain, who holds a UEFA A Licence alongside Canada Soccer Youth and Children's Licences and a Technical Director's Diploma, said: "I'm grateful to SCB for supporting my continuous professional development and I thoroughly enjoyed the Convention this year.
"I learn every day in this job and Anaheim was a perfect example of that, I can always pick up new trends on the Xs and Os and I did but off the field you learn so much about how youth soccer organisations best serve the players and parents. That was the key area this time."
