SOCCER CAPE BRETON LEAGUE GAMES - WHAT IF I FEAR THE GAME IS OFF?

Another soccer season is upon us and soccer players are excited to take to the pitch! Whether it’s the first time for some of our youngest players or the start of a new season for others, it’s always great to see soccer taking off in our community.

Our clubs have been busy preparing for the season to give our players a quality soccer experience that highlights development and competition with a goal to create a lifelong passion for the game. 

One aspect of The Beautiful Game that is out of our control is the weather. As we start our season in what has been a wet June to date, our fields are still waking up from a winter slumber as they grow and change with the spring season.

Soccer Cape Breton takes responsibility for any weather cancellations for league games. Our procedure for weather cancellations can be found on our website through this link, Weather Cancellations.

We typically only cancel games due to field conditions being unsafe or weather events like thunder and lightning. If a parent or player is wondering if their game is going to be cancelled they should contact their coach or their club for an update on the status of their game for that day.

* Soccer Cape Breton will make decisions on cancelling games in the CBRM by 3pm each day. If Soccer Cape Breton has not cancelled games by this time, the game will go ahead as scheduled.

* The referee will then make the decision if the game is safe to be played or not. Games taking place outside of CBRM, we rely on weather and field condition reports from our rural clubs to help us make those decisions.
