CAPE BRETON FC U15AA Boys were crowned Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial champions on Sunday as they edged out Final rivals Storm 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
The island boys had to show courage to fight back from a goal behind at Mainland Commons in Halifax and Felipe Caicedo hauled them back into the match with a crucial equaliser.
CAPERS had already come through a shoot-out on the Saturday to defeat United DFC after keeper Charles Horne made a vital stop following a 4-4 tie and so it proved it again as the #ForeverOrange no.1 saved a spot-kick from his opposite GK.
That left CBFC 2024 Team of the Year centre-half Ryan MacQueen with the decisive kick and he buried it to bring the banner back to Cape Breton.
