CAPE BRETON FC's Girls Academy has been handed a huge boost with SIX players named to the U14 Team Nova Scotia programs and one team-mate aged up to play in the U15 Provincial squad.
Goalkeeper Elise Angione, defenders Liz Carrigan and Carly Richardson, midfielder Jena Macaulay and strikers Ella Mills and Ellie Fogarty are all included in the initial selection at 14s.
Their U15AAA Girls team-mate Norah MacDonald joins them in the Provincial programs and is playing a year up in the U15s.
The selections are testimony to these girls being both coachable and dedicated on their development journeys to date.
All seven were part of the invincible U13AA Girls team that won the Soccer Nova Scotia provincial banner last season and with four of their summer team-mates - Avery Kelloway, Mya Boudreau, Claire Kaupp and Evelyn Power - in the U13s Team NS program this means 11 of that title-winning squad have now gained Provincial recognition.
Soccer Cape Breton would like to pay tribute to last summer's coaching staff of Tyler Kaupp, Krista Mills and Ashlyn Tierney who did an outstanding job nurturing the players through a key season of their growth in the Beautiful Game.
