CAPE BRETON FC is this week celebrating a landmark achievement with a superb 22 players recognised with selections in the Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial Programs for Season 2024/25.
The players who earned their call-ups wearing the famous CAPERS Academy orange jersey are as follows:
U13 Girls: Avery Kelloway, Talia Cordoba, Macey MacPherson, Mya Boudreau, Claire Kaupp, Evelyn Power.
U13 Boys: Dylan Dickson, Abiram Gudimetla, Sam Borden.
U14 Girls: Elise Angione, Liz Carrigan, Carly Richardson, Jena Macaulay, Ella Mills, Ellie Fogarty.
U14 Boys: Matthew Cormier, Luka Church.
U15 Girls: Norah MacDonald (Aged up from 14s)
Canada Games Girls: Sadie Delorey, Alyse Tierney, Ava MacDonald.
Canada Games Boys: Iven Gouthro.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: “We are extremely proud of all the players who have won the accolade of a place in the Soccer Nova Scotia programs to continue their development in the game.
“To have 22 players involved from U13s right up to staying in the running for the Canada Games squads is a really positive sign for the CAPERS Academy as a whole.
“Next season will see CBFC play Tier One Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL) competitions at all age groups in the Academy which is a big challenge but one the club has to take on to keep growing.
“Our Provincial players are there through not only their ability but their coachability, humility and work ethic. We have exciting plans ahead to improve and enhance the Academy programs and we will stay focused on EVERY player and their journey.
“This recognition is also a reward for our loyal and dedicated coaching staff and they too should be proud of the role they have played. We should always take a moment to celebrate our successes - then keep pushing forward together.”
