CAPE BRETON FC alumni Jai Cunsolo Willox capped a superb season of Varsity Soccer with the UKC Blue Devils in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) by being voted onto the conference's All-Star Team.
The former CBFC U18AA Boys skipper has been a superb signing for King's College in Halifax and is sparkling both in the classroom and on the field.
Jai was a hugely popular figure with the club both as a player and latterly as a coach and then Summer Football Coordinator when he filled one of our Summer Grant roles with distinction.
This year the Blue Devils made the Conference Final where they lost narrowly to St Thomas University of New Brunswick before making the trip to Nationals where Jai again excelled wining Player of the Match honours.
UKC Blue Devils Head Coach Jamie McGinnis said: "Jai took another big jump forward this year and we are super proud of him and our links with the Cape Breton program.
"We also have CBFC's former keeper Liam Collings here and he had a breakout season as the third best keeper in the league with a .094 GAA."
Everyone at Soccer Cape Breton and CBFC is hugely proud of Jai and his achievements as he continues his soccer and academic progress.
SCB Assistant Technical Director Kuvy Moodley has worked with a string of CBFC players who have made the leap to Varsity soccer over the last eight years.
Kuvy stressed: "So many of those players have displayed excellent ability on the field and great character off it.
"Jai stands as one of the best players and human beings to come out of CBFC in the past decade.
"He is an intelligent footballer who combines a high technical and tactical ability with a fierce desire to compete for his team.
"Jai set standards here as a captain and ensured that his team-mates gave 110 per cent every time they stepped on the pitch.
"I've worked with Jai since he was 13 years old and seeing him excel at University level makes me very proud.
"He is a beacon of hope to the next generation of Cape Breton soccer players that they themselves can succeed at the next level."
